More than Blessed.

It's really a great honour to study in my school - SMK Batu Lapan. We always felt that our school is the last school that we would ever study. Why? We had unappetizing and limited choice of food in the canteen, problematic teachers/headmistress, inactive co-curricular, etc, compared to others school. Why not give thanks and be contented for the things we have rather than listing down the things we do not have? Is not it better? I was once in the first category until today.

My perspective towards my teachers, school and fellow friends totally changed recently. As I count the days towards the start of my major exam - SPM, I knew that my last days in school are also reaching. I realize that we never sincerely appreciate what we have until it is lose it. Just like an old saying: "we often cry over a spilled milk."

I had a really blessed week today when I came across really helpful and dedicated teachers that really pour out time and effort to support and give me last minute advises. I felt so touched by my teachers and friends having such selfless attitude while many would rather be anguish and be self-concerned.

Throughout this week or should I say, this month, I had learned to be selfless, humble, meek, loving, kind, patient and last but not least, having total faith in God. It is not my might, strength or even my luck to be capable of going through this season. It is not the works of my hands that brought me here today. It is God. It is HE who provides me with wisdom and intellectual skills. It is he that I am successful. God gives, God takes, God names forever be glorified.

I often had a prideful mindset of I could not learn much from weaker or younger individuals. But if only listen twice as much as we speak. The only thing we need to do is to be humble and gentle, swallowing our pride for just ONCE. We will see and learn things we would not expect. I urge you to try it.

Until I blog again,

Walk with God. Walk with love.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
1 corinthians 13:4-9

More than just a birthday.

Thanks for every single birthday wish. Thanks to for every single thing. Thank God that his mercy and grace is on me that I may celebrate my 17th birthday. Thanks to my family and friends for existing. =) Well, birthdays aren't important. What's important is that we know that we have an impact in our friends and family. We know that our birthday is not to have presents and gifts and wishes just to gain popularity or fame or acknowledgement from friends to boast. Birthdays is just a day, on the our personal calender so that we remember the BLESSINGS and LOVE that God has given to us - our friends and family. Blessed birthday to myself =). Thanks again. For every wish or even thoughts in your mind that you wanted to wish me.

If you were to ask me what's my wish. Nothing in particular. Mostly the wish that I want that is priceless. I could not be wished for but only could be earned.

Well, practically. My wishes and desire are already here. Right now. Being alive and breathing is the greatest gift of all. Without life, we could not enjoy and appreciate or even feel the things around us. We lose perception. Awareness.

Everyone has birthdays. Everyone wants great present and wishes to come reality. In our heads, sometimes it's more about receiving than giving. Normally, if you are observant, those who are"LIKABLE" and "popular" will get the biggest birthday surprise with all their friends to celebrate for him/her. What about those who are less popular? What about those who are less fortunate, less appealing in appearance, less blessed without many friends and family? They don't get great birthdays. They're discriminated. Left out.

I really encourage everyone of us to look around us. A simple effort on talking to a person(especially those who are lonely, less sociable, basically those who are discriminated and lefted-out by social groups) counts. A simple "hello" counts. Obviously with a sincere and kind heart of saying it. Don't just say "HI" without meaning it. Don't just ask: "how are you?" without concerning and be passionate to know what is happen in another person's life.

We often live in our comfort zone. What is so hard to greet those who are left-out? Is it because they are fatUglyLess sociable? Weird? Come on, they're humans too. How would you feel if everyone around you passes you by without acknowledging you?

We always want to be liked by everyone. We try to please everyone by saying things that compliment, praise, sweet-flowerish words that everyone likes to hear. But when it comes to correcting, encouraging, and rebuking others, nobody wants to do it. Nobody wants to correct their friends because everyone is just afraid to offend. Afraid to lose their "Fame" and "Popularity". We discuss it behind our friends back, judging them, reactifying the problem, criticising them. When the question of, :"So, who's going to tell him/her about this problem?" Nobody wants to. We dare to talk about it behind him/her, confirming the problem, talking about it, but nobody just want to get their hands dirty. Are we afraid, ashamed, fearful? Or are we just being SOOOOO SELFISH because we CARE more for ourself than for others. We judge others so that we can correct others, to make others improve. Especially those we call best friends and family.

So please, my ONLY WISH is that we could be humble, loving, and kind enough to greet and talk to those we have not talk to in our class, during tuition, etc. Correct those we love. We judge them not because we want to criticise them/put them to shame. It's out of love and kindness we tell them. Hopefully, they will understand and change.
Please don't put on a mask and say:"I'm too afraid to correct others, especially my best friends, because I'm afraid/ashame."
Best friends and family members suppose to be honest to one another. Don't put on a "selfish-egoistic" mask.

God Bless.

If you never failed, you never lived.

Sometimes we need to fail in order to know,

Sometimes we need to be hurt in order to grow,

Sometimes we need to lose in order to gain

Cause some life lessons are best learned through pain

Influences.

Our lives are like a burning flame. The words we say, the things we do. Little do we know it holds so much potential that it can directly or indirectly make an impact in others lives.

Within our circle of friends and family, in this wicked world today, it is either YOU being a influence to others or you others will influence you. Well, there's 2 types of influence. The positive and negative influence.

We should build strong walls around our heart. Don't just follow our heart, because our heart could be deceived. But we need to lead our heart. Be a good influence to others and stay firm on your ground with all the bad influence out there that could make a huge impact in your life.

Beware of the friends we mix, little do we know that they do much more negative impact in our life than we do to them. Just like parasites. They just harm you without you realizing.
